This month meet Miranda Sharkey. She joined the McClone operations team last year and works out of our Menasha office. In her role as HR/Ops Coordinator, Miranda supports employees in all lines of business, ensuring they have the tools they need to best serve our clients.

Let’s learn more about her.

What is your role on the team?

I am currently the HR/Ops Coordinator for the agency. I directly support the VP of Human Resources and the Director of Client Experience. I am also responsible for maintaining our HR system and assisting our associates in various departments (commercial property & casualty, personal lines and benefits). From onboarding and setting up carrier access to scheduling meetings and appointments, it’s my job to make sure everyone else can effectively perform their jobs.

What are some of your favorite things about your job?

I really like that my job has a lot of variety and my tasks are always changing. I like that one day is never the same as the next—it keeps the work interesting and challenging. I also appreciate my relationships with coworkers. We work well as a team and I enjoy my role as collaborator and facilitator.

Why do you choose to work for McClone?

One of the biggest factors in my choosing McClone is the culture. From the very beginning, it has always felt very family-orientated and flexible. Employees participate in fun events (potlucks, holiday parties, etc.) together, and even while working remotely, we have shared a sense of camaraderie, using video chats to stay connected.

I also admire everyone’s commitment to self-awareness and continually working to do better. One of the agency’s core values is continuous improvement and that can’t happen without everyone’s participation. It’s nice to work in an environment where everyone is striving together and supporting each other to be their very best. 

What are you ambitious about?

Professionally, I am excited to see McClone grow, and I am looking forward to learning how my role will transform with the agency. (I suspect I will continue to enjoy the ever-changing nature of my job and the variety of associated tasks.) One day, I think it would be nice to be in a top position within a company and have the confidence to lead. I have some great examples to follow at McClone.

Personally, I am looking forward to getting married to my fiancé, starting a family and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I am happiest spending time with my fiancé, Leonard, and our two cats Jo Jo and Boo, who were both rescued from a local shelter.

Some of my hobbies include playing video games, spending time with friends and family, going on hikes and trying new cuisine. I dream of traveling more and am eager to experience more of the world!
