Please join us in celebrating the amazing individuals at the heart of who we are and what we do. Learn more about what makes us tick as you get to know our diverse team

From HR consultants, IT personnel and administrative associates to account managers and sales leaders, our team members are dedicated to client success and community involvement—even if we must do it from a safe distance for the foreseeable future.

This month meet Zach Kaiser. He has been a part of the McClone team for five years and works out of our Sheboygan office. He is a Strategic Risk Advisor who works with business insurance clients and specializes in risk management for cybersecurity as well as human capital risk.

Let’s learn more about him.

What is your role on the team?

My role is to advise my clients on the risks they face and provide solutions to mitigate those risks. I also seek out new clients who are looking for the services we provide. This includes getting involved in the community as well as developing relationships with our partners and learning about the products and services they provide. I also specialize in cyber risk and the specific product nuances in that field.

What are some of your favorite things about your job?

I love building relationships and solving problems with clients. Insurance can be frustrating and difficult to understand, so being able to guide people through the process and help them make informed decisions is very fulfilling. I also enjoy comparing policy language and helping our clients by anticipating new risks, market changes and trends. When something bad happens, it’s comforting to be able to provide some relief when people are most afraid of the future.

I never anticipated that I would be in the insurance industry, but I really enjoy the combination of relationship building and analytical thinking. I need both of those elements in my work, and I am grateful this job satisfies that need.

Why do you choose to work for McClone?

First and foremost, I choose to work for McClone because doing the right thing is at the center of everything we do, and it resonates through the core leadership and the McClone family. Whether it be for the team, a local nonprofit or for one of our clients, the company has fostered a culture of helping the community however we can. I think a lot of organizations say the right things, but McClone is about doing the right thing and being there for our community.

On a more personal note, the company’s core values align with my personal convictions—humility, service to others, attention to detail, hard work and continuous self-improvement—all in a family-friendly environment.

On my first day, Dustin outlined the importance of these values and asked that I occasionally self-evaluate if I am living them in my role. That stuck with me because too often core values are marketing fodder rather than guiding principles.

Not only have these core principles help me in my career, but they have also made me a better person, and I am thankful for that.

What are your ambitions?

I want to continue to help our clients grow and thrive. Our focus on community is important to me, and I am excited that we continue to add tools and resources for our clients that also benefit the community at large. I look forward to being a reliable partner for many years to come, not only for my clients, but also among community organizations, groups and associations.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I love spending time with my wife and kids, and we enjoy hanging out with family and friends. We moved to Sheboygan last year, and we are having fun exploring the area, even though I grew up not-to-far from here. I am a licensed official for the WIAA and enjoy umping baseball when time allows. I am looking forward to my kids getting involved in sports and other activities as they grow.
