While most of us are busy getting 2013 underway, the Well City Fox Cities initiative has another date in mind - there are less than six months before our deadline of May 31, 2013! Even if you won’t be submitting an application before then, the CEOs of two of our recent Gold Level Well Workplace Award winners want you to remember that wellness is a viable, sustainable business strategy that will have a positive impact on your organization.

John Bergstrom, Chairman and CEO of Bergstrom Automotive, knows that a key part of any organization’s success is the quality and commitment of its workforce. “We do a great service for our employees if we encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle,” he said, noting that healthy employees are also less likely to miss work, get more done, and make fewer mistakes. “In addition,” he added, “we are certain that over a period of time, our health care insurance costs will level off through these efforts.”

As someone who is very familiar with health insurance costs, Mike McClone, CEO of McClone, a Menasha based insurance agency for over 60 years, has also embraced wellness as a business strategy with great success. “Our insurance utilization, absenteeism, recruitment, and retention have all been positively impacted,” he reported. “We believe the wellbeing of our employees will continue to play a key role in the success of our business as we look forward to the next 60 years.”

The message is clear: the effort that you’re putting in to improve the health and wellbeing of your employees is important - not only to them, but to your organization and beyond. John Bergstrom, Mike McClone, and all of us at Well City Fox Cities encourage you to keep up the good work!
